How to start your journey from Ordinary to extraordinary

The journey from ordinary to extraordinary is difficult but certain attitudes can help us to achieve our goal. These Includes thankfulness, passion, mindfulness, and emotional strength.

Thankfulness: A great tool to become extraordinary

Let’s understand the concept of ordinary to extraordinary in detail from this particular story. In the heart of a bustling hospital, there lived a nurse named Suzie, a beacon of joy and color in the monotony of medical routines.

Her vibrant spirit made her the favorite among colleagues and patients alike. Suzie, with her infectious enthusiasm, filled the hospital corridors with a lively energy that was palpable.People often wondered how Suzie maintained such boundless happiness. When asked, she’d simply say,

“Life is a canvas; it’s up to you to paint a colorful masterpiece. I choose vibrancy over dullness.”

Her daily motivation was to be like the sun, shining through the darkest clouds, bringing warmth to those enduring storms.

Curious about Suzie’s unwavering positivity, I once asked about the source of her motivation. She shared a life-changing story, a journey from ordinary to extraordinary. Suzie revealed that after a severe car accident, lying on the operation table with a mere 5% chance of survival, she made a choice – a powerful decision between life and death. In that critical moment, as she overheard doctors whispering about the slim odds of her survival, Suzie felt a surge of emotions.

Determined to defy the bleak prognosis, she vowed to turn those 5% odds into 50% through sheer willpower. Suzie’s life hung in the balance, and for the first time, she realized the profound beauty of thankfulness. Surviving the ordeal, Suzie made a promise to herself – to spread positivity and be a source of light for others. Despite her major in Botany, she chose to become a nurse.

In the hospital, she encountered despairing souls every day, individuals tired of life or those who had lost hope. Suzie saw each day as a choice between gloom and happiness, and without hesitation, she opted for the latter. Her decision to be a nurse wasn’t just a profession; it was a mission to fulfill the promise she made during her darkest hours. Suzie’s presence in the hospital became a testament to resilience and gratitude, a reminder that life’s beauty could be found even in the most challenging circumstances.

And so, Suzie continued to paint the canvas of her life with vibrant hues, inspiring everyone around her to choose the path of joy and gratitude.

Let me ask you, What have you learned from this story?

Spread happiness , stay positive.

What I have learned is that life is a gift for us . We enjoyed it and we made the most out of it. But we take it too ordinary. We simply don’t understand its importance. And that’s the reason why our lives are ordinary, if we want to make it extraordinary we need to learn to show our gratitude towards life.

And one of my ways to show gratitude is to spread happiness in my surroundings and make their life easier.

What’s your way?

Why thankfulness matters

Thankfulness is not just a simple emotion. It is a mindset which allows us to see beyond our capabilities. An ordinary person while doing something believes that it’s his effort, it’s his brilliant mind which allowed him to do something great, thus he became arrogant.

He pushes himself to do more which stresses him out . His arrogance didn’t allow him to see another force which was guiding him all the way through.

On the other hand the person having gratitude believe on some unknown force, believes on God that whatever happened, happened because Allah make him do so thus his mind become more resilient, and stress free. And that’s how he starts his journey of becoming ordinary to extraordinary.

Navigating the journey hrough this blog we will try to understand the scientific evidence which backs up gratitude as well as the religious belief about thankfulness and practical tips about how to cultivate thankfulness in our lives with such a way that it can become the guiding light on the path of being extraordinary.

The science behind thankfulness

According to research it has been observed that when a person has a gratitude his mind releases lubricant and due to that lubricant he becomes more

  • Agile,
  • Vigilante,
  • Flexible and
  • Adaptive

And when a person gains all of these qualities he becomes smarter. And as a person becomes smarter his horizon increases ,he finds more opportunities thus he becomes successful.

According to this research if a person wants to become more successful he should implement an attitude of gratitude in his life.

Thankfulness acts like a magnet

Remember in childhood when we had a piece of magnet and we liked to move it around the metal. And when we do it again and again and again and eventually metal becomes the magnet itself. What does it prove, it clearly proves that when you always think about negative things you attract more negativity which makes you experience worse things but when you think positively your whole life becomes positive.

Thankfulness is when you acknowledge all the good things in life which make you happy and content.

We are what we repeatedly do.

Aristotle

Find the exceptions

You cannot become extraordinary if you see your life ordinary. When you think I am alive but what so special about it everyone is living.

You have health, you say so what everyone else is healthy too. You yourself are the reason why your life is ordinary because you can’t find exceptions in your life.

Thankfulness is when you start seeing exceptions in your life when you can see that you have hands to work, while there are many who are handicapped, eyes to see, while so many are blind, you have such an amazing life which allows you to explore the world, while many are dead already.

When you start feeling that your life is extraordinary you become extraordinary.

Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you.

(Henry Ward Beecher)

Let’s understand it with this story

Once there was a woodcutter he used to cut wood from the mountain early in the morning. Once his son insists that he will go with him. He took his son with him while going up the mountain. There was a big stone on the way. As the father was aware he changed the way to avoid bumping into the stone but the son was unaware so he got hurt.

When he bumped into the stone he screamed. But what’s that he heard another scream after his own scream. He thought someone else would mimic him,he got angry and shouted “who are you?”

Again someone repeated after him who are you? He became more angry and he again shouted “show yourself, I will kill you” Again he heard the same voice with the same words, this time he got scared and went to his father who was silently watching him, he told him that there is someone who is secretly watching him and making fun of him.

His father, despite giving him an answer , also shouted “I love you” , which he again heard echoing ” I love you, I love you”. His father again shouted you are a brilliant child. The same voice repeated after his father. This time the boy became happy and shouted I love you too and this time he heard I love you in return.

These ladies and gentlemen give the life long lesson to the child that whatever he will give to life , life will give him back. If you give positive energy to the world the world in return will give you positive energy.

Thankfulness in Islam
